Bus Door Sound Effect

📝 Description

This Bus Door sound effect is the pneumatic gasp of a folding door opening, a compressed hiss followed by the soft knock of the panel reaching the end of its travel. It is a small sound with a remarkable amount of place packed into it — you hear a kerb, a queue and a route number without any of them being shown on screen. The two-part shape makes it useful structurally as well, because the hiss sets up an expectation and the knock resolves it. Editors use it for city scenes, arrivals and departures, and for any cut that needs a quick mechanical breath to mark somebody entering or leaving a space.
